Now You Can See Through Walls With Your Smartphone Using This 3D Sensor
Want to Look inside the wall, yes, sounds little crazy but it is certainly a dream of many people as well. What if I say that now you can see through walls, a 3D-imaging sensor company based in Israel has developed a 3D-imaging sensor for Android smartphones that allows your device to peer right through the walls.

Heard a suspicious noise coming from inside the house wall, but that obviously did not want to throw the hammer there in order to know what it is? Or even had to make an emergency repair in a room and did not want to end up hitting the electrical wiring or a pipe?
Materials detectors gained a new competitor: the sensor for Android smartphones called Walabot DIY promises to use your device to check what is behind the walls and reveal pipes, wiring and even unwanted pests hidden within its walls.
The device is the first to use the 3D sensor technology Vayyar Imaging on a product to the end consumer that does not require any training to use. You just need to download the WalabotDIY app from the Google Play Store, simply connect an accessory to the USB port on your smartphone, and hold it against the wall.
“Walabot DIY instantly turns a smartphone into a powerful 3D-imaging system at your fingertips,” company officials said. Also added that “Our advanced technology lets people see all kinds of things hidden in the world around them, adding yet another dimension to the way people use smart devices today”.
For easier use, Walabot DIY can be attached magnetically to the back of the smartphone, so you can use both devices with one hand, leaving the other hand free to simply work on the app interface.
“Walabot DIY technology is simple and intuitive, so people with any level of experience can use it to enjoy and better the world around them,” the company said.
The CEO and co-founder of Vayyar Imaging, a 3D-imaging sensor company based in Israel, Raviv Melamed said that “Walabot DIY makes highly sophisticated imaging technology approachable, affordable and usable for everyone”.
Unlike the detector materials, which uses a series of vague LEDs to indicate when detected something behind a wall, Walabot DIY app offers a more visual representation of what has been detected, its guidance, what is done and how far is at depths of up to 10 cm.
If you will reform your home and do not want to even have a job if end hitting a hidden pipe on the wall when hammering something, Walabot DIY costs only $200 which is not cheap as a detector of common materials, but may be worth it to you as it simply let you know what exactly is destroying the home. However, the Walabot DIY later expected to rise to $300.
