With a wealth of information and deployed worldwide systems, each of the major technology companies carries out its own research and development on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Google, Facebook, Amazon, IBM and Microsoft Join Forces On Future Of AI

So far the big technology companies seemed to have gone their own way in the development of artificial intelligence. We have seen how all point this avenue of research and how many have released their platforms for developers and researchers to contribute to the development of these platforms with all possible resources.
The problem is that it created some fragmentation, something that now could be solved with the so-called Partnership on AI, an initiative that Facebook, Amazon, Google (Alphabet), IBM and Microsoft have been proposed redirect common efforts in this research field and promote good practices to prevent the artificial intelligence does not become a threat.
Although all companies will collaborate and create a formal communication structure in which to unify criteria and these good practices, but, they also must not forget that all of them continue to compete: it simply depends on the products and services that they offer than ever are governed by that artificial intelligence and its various ramifications.
This consortium is open to other companies who want to contribute their resources and expertise in the future, and to be seen if any of the big absences, then here they are Apple, Twitter and Intel, they actually not seem to be interested at the moment which may get resolved in the coming months.
The main objectives of this group are using a standard open license for all content to be published, including reports will focus on areas such as ethics and privacy in an extremely promising segment but should be monitored closely. Hopefully, this will help the consortium to control the line of development which will not warp.
